Cristina Martinho, the founder
Since 2001 she’s working with water and sanitation.
Specialist in risk assessment and risk management of water supply systems and sanitation systems.
She belongs to the restricted group of trainers of World Health Organization for Water Safety Plans (WSP) and Sanitation Safety Planning (SSP).
Graduated in Chemical Engineering, with post-graduation in Sanitary Engineering and post-graduation in Industrial Engineering by the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the New University of Lisbon.
She began her career in the Municipal Water and Sanitation Services of Peniche as responsible for the operation of Water Treatment Plants and Wastewater Treatment Plants.
She worked in the Portuguese Water and Waste Services Regulation Authority (ERSAR) where she mainly developed technical guidelines and collaborated in the development of the national drinking water quality information system “water quality” module.
Then she co-founded Acquawise Consulting, where she supported various water companies in developing and implementing WSPs, as well as developing the Infrastructure Asset Management (IAM). She performed training in WSP, and developed Water Safety Plans Collaborative Projects. She was involved in the WHO pilot project in Portugal to test the SSP methodology. See participated in the technical review of the WHO SSP Manual and in the translation of this manual for Portuguese. She carried out training and institutional awareness in SSP. She also carried out WSP audits and audits to the ERSAR Performance Indicators of the Quality of Service.
In 2018 she founded CMMartinho Consulting and continue to support water companies to develop WSP, to implement WSP, to revise WSP, to revise risk assessment of the water supply system for ERSAR, to develop Communication Plans for drinking water contamination incidents, and also do some training in WSP.
